Honoring  Georgia's Veterans since 1981

Dear Fellow Veterans and our Supporters:

The Georgia Veterans Day Parade Association is hard at work planning the 2014 Veterans Day events in Atlanta.  We are finalizing our official theme, but can share that the theme to this year's events will be the final 15 months of World War II.  This July, the world will remember the 70th Anniversary of the D-Day operation to free Europe from Nazi tyranny.  While that operation is an often celebrated date, there were many other operations in both the European and Pacific theatres that led the Allies on the path to victory.  Therefore, in 2014, we will pay special honors to Veterans of those 0perations and all of our World War II Veterans.

Last year was our largest and most successful year to date.  We selected the Korean War Veterans for special honors as 2013 marked the 60th Anniversary of the Armistice that ended the war, but not the fighting.  A peace treaty has never been signed and the two Koreas continue on with a fragile cease-fire preventing a return to war.  Our theme of "Honoring our Korean War Veterans and All Who Preserved Freedom" brought recognition to the war Veterans as well as the thousands of troops who have preserved the peace on the Korean penninsula since 1953.  Thank you for helping us honor this group of Veterans.

Every member of our association is a volunteer and I could not be more proud of what they accomplished this year.  The long hours in preparing for our events were forgotten as they moved forward in success.  We thank everyone who attended the 2013 Veterans Day Parade and the Freedom Ball and look forward to seeing you again this year.

Keep checking back to our website for upcoming events and additional information about our 2014 Atlanta Veterans Day Parade and Freedom Ball.
