Who operates the parade?

Georgia Veterans Day Parade Association of Atlanta, Inc. (GVDPA), a nonprofit organization, produces all events. Volunteers from veterans groups, active duty military, and civic minded community members fulfill all tasks. This year’s parade is the 30th Annual Veterans Day Parade in Atlanta.  About 13 years ago the organization began hosting a Grand Ball on the evening of the Parade. The 2011 Freedom Ball will be on Saturday, November 12th, at 1800 hours at the Oceans Ballroom of the Georgia Aquarium.

Who pays for the parade?

Many individuals and organizations sponsor the parade.  Sponsorship opportunities include floats, parade entries, purchasing banquet tickets, donating prizes, placing ads in the Parade program and making direct financial contributions. Marching in the parade does not require a fee although entrants often choose to make a donation as well.
